Probably not of interest for most members using the forum but a great way to get friends, family or colleagues out on the water this summer for not a lot of money!

 

So what do you get for £99 per month membership?

 

42 hours of WaveTime a month

New Yamaha VX jetski

Versadock drive on/off mooring at Salterns marina in the Poole, Dorset.

Comprehensive insurance

Servicing/maintenance

 

The £299 joining fee includes a PWC 1 day course.

 

I hope this will help promote the sport and be a great hassle free entry for new skier.

That's the plan! 

Plus no storage, no trailers, no slipways and all the other hassle that goes with running your own ski etc etc... 

There is also a hotel on site if people are coming down from out of town.

Hello Buddy,

I came across your site a couple of days ago, I ride standup and have just moved to Bomo and was going to get a cheap run about and use salterns versa docks so the missus or me can ride on a day out with stand up so we can venture futher than baiter, so this does look very appealing and cost effective when you consider cost of salterns fees alone!

Few questions tho:

-Me and missus did RYA under year ago, so would we get discount rate without refresh course?
-How do you limit bookings so some sod doesn't book out the ski all the time, 42 hours booked by one person 2 hrs each day 21 days of the month at certain time each day could stuff everyone else up?
How short notice can you book?
Do paying members get a key for locks etc to use when they booked, or have to go somewhere to collect?
How do you stop system being abused if one person pays fee and get all family friends, mates, people they half know, cousens twice removed using it and abusing skis?
How many members are there on the two skis at the mo?

As I say very interested the questions arn't intended to be critisms just queries before I can consider membership.

hi kieran, 

good to hear you're interested... I'll work through your questions briefly, but happy to detail anything I've missed. 

1. Yes if you've completed your courses and have certificates we will discount the joining fee by £100 per person. 
2. You can't book more than a month in advance, and guaranteed allocation is 6 peak sessions (12 hours), 15 off-peak (30 hours) - peak being weekends. If you use all of your peak allocation then you get unlimited same day booking if the skis are free up to your total allocation of 42 hours. 
3. We use a live online booking system so you can book minutes before use assuming the ski is free. 
4. The skis have combination locks, the access code is emailed on return of an online booking. 
5. There is online cctv monitoring the skis so we can see exactly who is using them. If a member is in breech of the rules their membership will be terminated and they would be liable for the remainder of their membership cost. Simply the model only works if everyone respects the equipment and the booking system, so we do have to vet potential members for suitability. 
6. We currently have 8 members using two skis. 

Input, questions and advice is all welcome, it is a new concept and we're encouraging members to get involved!
